It's the beginning of tax season and one of our users gave us a great idea. What if EstateAssist could help users simplify preparation of their 1099 filings? We loved it, so we have created a new feature.
When you are on your user dashboard, you will now see a "1099's" link near the top right corner (we will give it a better permanent home later - just wanted you to see it for this year). That will take you to a screen where you can select any year (that you have fiduciary and/or legal fees paid out in a case) and you will see a report of fiduciary fee and attorney fee payments from that year, along with some pertinent case information.
We know our users are on the ball and have their 1099's done and sent, but we still thought we would get it out there, just in case.
This is currently in beta status, so please send us a quick email with your suggestions for other data you would like to see on the screen and other things we can do to save you a little time on this annual task. We've checked with the IRS, and they will not accept pdf 1099 filings, so we can't automate their production. Other than that, we are all ears.
We just received this idea last week, so we put together the tool quickly. We will take a longer look at it in the near future, and think about ways we can make it even more convenient.
Thank you, Ashton, for this excellent suggestion! Do you have a feature you want us to add to EstateAssist? We would love to hear from you. Email us at support@estateassist.app.
