You wanted it, You got it - EstateAssist now gives you Order Control

EstateAssist automatically categorizes and lists interested persons, receipts, and disbursements on a number of probate pleadings (including 1.0, 6.1, and 13.1). When we launched, the app was designed to simply list these in their appropriate categories. Since launching, our surveys and user interviews have taught us that ordering these items is part of the art of legal work, and our users have wanted that power. In fact, it is the #1 request we have received.

Now you have it! Take a look at your case Interested Persons screen and Receipts screen. Both now give you the ability to dictate the order of your Interested Persons and Receipts by selecting numbers in the dropdown menus to the right of each item.

Here is how they work:

• When you enter a new IP or Receipt, it will automatically be assigned the next number. This means that you can simply make your entries in the order you want, and they will be set.

• You can change the order at any time by adjusting the dropdown numbering to the right of the IP / Receipt and clicking the save button (see screenshots below) at the bottom of the list.

• If you have two or more items with the same number, the app will order those items, but they will remain in their order relative to other items.

• The ordering will apply to all documents.

• Existing cases on EstateAssist will default to "-" for each item. You can go in and make the order you want.

These features are now live on the app, but still in beta testing. Please let us know if you come across any issues or concerns, of if you have any questions.

What about Disbursements? Knowing that Disbursements are usually significantly more numerous than Interested Persons and Receipts, we don't know if this functionality is as practical for Disbursements. We are still evaluating that. Date of Disbursement and Voucher Number are automatic measurements for determining order for Disbursements. We will decide soon if we think this functionality should be applied there too. Feel free to email us with your thoughts on this.
